Tough Tech

Today, I took a day off from work to participate in a technical rehearsal of my show for tomorrow's opening night performance.  A professional play would typically have what is called a "10-out-of-12".  That's 10 hours to set your show's lighting and sound cues with a 2 hour dinner break.  In the world of FringeNYC, you're given twice the running time of your show, which for me, is 3 hours.  As you can imagine, that wasn't much.

To my surprise, the member of my tech team that was there today was not the one who knows how to program light cues.  So, it was slow going, to say the least.  My director decided to strip the cues to the bare essentials, but we didn't get to run the show in the theater to make sure we got it.  So the audience will be there with us on Saturday night to see the first run with lights and sound.

After our tech, I found an available rehearsal space and ran through the show without stopping to make sure all the director's notes were set in my mind; thereafter, I met with my director and stage manager for our final rehearsal (which is not in the theater that the show will be performed in) and had our final run-through.  So tomorrow, it's all about faith and fun!

Right now it looks like Drupal is the top blogging platform out there right now. (from what I've read) Is that what you're using on your blog?

It is good that you were able to take time to participate in such rehearsal. Simply because those people were also part of the play or performance that you have. It is good to know that you have allotted a time to check them. It is also great to take a break from your usual routine. I am grateful that you have done this one. Great efforts that you have there, I really admire you for that. By the way I really love the photo that you have here. You look gorgeous. Thanks for partaking this one.
